We are Arran and Margarita – a pair of snowboard enthusiasts who are going to spend the 2017 winter in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada!

Our plane leaves Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, on 1st January 2017 for 3 months and we’d like to share our experience with you. Hopefully you enjoy the content (if not thanks for stopping by) and maybe there will be something useful for people doing the same or something similar in the future.

During our trip neither of us will be working so we have all the time to ourselves 🙂

Here’s a little more about us, our Whistler goals and dreams:

Margarita – Apart from snowboarding, I have a great passion for photography – summers are usually occupied with shooting beautiful weddings and meeting creative people, so when we got the idea of getting away for the whole winter I got more than excited. Not only am I hoping to improve my skills on the snowboard so that my general riding gets better and I land a few tricks (fingers crossed Arran stays patient teaching me 180’s), I just really want to Live the Mountains! Get the most of the fresh air, gorgeous nature and creative people I am sure we’re going to meet! And of course, I’ll be working on my photography. Once settled, I’ll start the search for awesome backdrops for the images that I’ll be sharing in our Gallery and http://www.margaritaphotos.com. Wish us luck! 😉 Xx

Arran – I’ve been snowboarding for about 13 years now. I’ve always lived in England and tend to get away for a week or two snowboarding in Europe each year. There’s indoor slopes in England but a 200 mile round trip for a few hours in a big fridge isn’t really my thing. I’m really keen to push myself and see how much I can improve in 3 months and with the parks in Whistler I can’t think of a better place! Margarita hasn’t snowboarded for as long as I have and I can’t wait to see how she progresses too.

If you check out our Videos there’s a few pre-Whistler edits so you can see what kind of level we’re at now (mainly of me, sorry). I’ll be posting clips throughout the season to see how we progress with final edits once it’s all over.

Apart from snowboarding, I just want to enjoy the whole experience and take it as it comes. We’ve made plenty of new friends on our past trips (we actually met each other on a group snowboarding trip. Thanks SCUK!) so I’m hoping we’ll make many more in Whistler. Every trip we’ve taken together has been amazing so far and I’m sure this one won’t be any different!
